Christine Stanko, MD, FAAD

Dr. Christine Stanko has been a practicing dermatologist in the Philadelphia suburbs since 2003.  She founded Bryn Mawr Dermatology less than two years later as a solo practitioner, and has been building the business on her reputation and moxie ever since.  The culmination of decades of hard work are the tens of thousands of happy patients who have passed through the doors of BMD.

let's get personal

“I chose to specialize in dermatology because skin is complicated, beautifully functional, and unifying. Every one of us has looked in the mirror at some point and been less than thrilled by what we see. The health of our skin affects our confidence and how others perceive us, and I believe that taking care of your skin – just like taking care of your other body systems – is not an extravagance, but a necessity. As a mom, wife, business owner, and active participant in my community I know how hard it is to find time to take care of yourself. That's why I've narrowed down my skin care selection to this catalog of highly-effective, reasonably-affordable, and easy-to-use products.”

Dr. Stanko's Skin Secret #1

A Cleanser I can't do without

My skin is sensitive, and tends to be irritated by even the most gentle anti-aging products, but I refuse to stop using them. In order to keep my skin calm but also ensure its clean, I like to use our Soothing Foamy Cleanser. It is rich with Niacinamide which helps reduce redness and doesn’t strip my skin of its protective barrier.

A Moisturizer that makes my night

The patented technology used in all Neocutis products is called PSP. It is a collagen-stimulating growth factor that has decades of scientific research supporting it. It is one of the only topical products on the market that can truly claim to help improve collagen production, which is why it is my night cream of choice.

I travel a lot to compete in pro-am Latin dancing competitions, and nothing is tougher on skin than sitting in an airplane (with a mask on) for hours. A few spritz of this mist, packed with free-radical destroying ingredients, and I’m sure to arrive looking bright eyed and bushy-tailed.

Dr. Stanko's Skin Care Tip #4

Why i love my limbs

When we think of skin care, we almost always think of facial products, but let’s not forget the 95% of our skin from the neck down. This light-weight, skin-firming gel feels amazing going on and keeps my skin hydrated and smooth.

Sun protection at its best

The one product you will hear every dermatologist recommend is sunscreen. Protecting your skin from UV exposure on a daily basis is the best way to prevent premature aging and, as a nice side effect, prevent skin cancer. My go-to product is EltaMD Daily. It’s light, yet moisturizing and has a universal tint to ensure I don’t look pasty when I put it on.
